Meta won't train AI on Euro posts after all, as watchdogs put their paws down

Meta paused plans to train its LLMs on EU users' public Facebook and Instagram posts following complaints by European data protection authorities led by Ireland's DPC, delaying the launch of Meta AI in Europe; Meta had proposed using only public adult content with opt-out for EU users, while the UK ICO welcomed the review and privacy group noyb said ongoing cases will continue.
