Cryptographers engage in war of words over RustSec bug reports and subsequent ban

Since February, applied cryptographer Nadim Kobeissi has reported multiple cryptographic flaws in Rust cryptography crates (notably a nonce-reuse issue in hpke-rs that can permit AES-GCM plaintext recovery and forgery under high-volume use), and alleges RustSec maintainers closed or blocked advisories and banned him after he pushed for publication; the piece also covers counterclaims from other cryptographers and the broader governance and conduct dispute escalated to the Rust Foundation.
