FastNetMon observed record-scale UDP packet-rate DDoS floods (~1.5 Gpps) that targeted DDoS scrubbing vendors in Europe, launched from thousands of compromised routers and IoT devices across over 11,000 networks; a near-identical second incident and an extortion email suggest a coordinated botnet campaign leveraging MikroTik devices to exhaust packet-processing capacity and threaten mitigation infrastructure.
