A Beijing-linked espionage group called Salt Typhoon reportedly gained footholds in the networks of major US ISPs — including Verizon, AT&T, and Lumen — potentially compromising systems used for court-ordered surveillance and broad internet traffic; investigators are probing the scope of data accessed and are investigating Cisco routers as a possible initial access vector.
