Fujitsu concluded an investigation into a March incident in which an advanced, non-ransomware malware — described as using disguising techniques and capable of worm-like spreading — infected an initial machine and propagated to 48 additional internal business systems in its Japan network. The attackers executed file-copying commands and personal and customer business information may have been exfiltrated; affected individuals were notified under Japan's data-protection rules, external experts assisted the response, infected machines were isolated, and the company says there is no evidence of spread to customers or external misuse so far.
