Microsoft Patch Tuesday for July 2026 — Snort rules and prominent vulnerabilities

Microsoft's July 2026 security update addresses 622 vulnerabilities across its product portfolio, including 57 critical issues (predominantly remote code execution), with two CVEs reported as exploited in the wild; affected components include Windows core services, Office apps, Exchange, SQL Server, Defender, Copilot and several cloud services. Cisco Talos highlights numerous 'more likely' to be exploited important vulnerabilities, and has released Snort 2 and Snort 3 rules to detect exploitation attempts while recommending customers update their signatures and review Microsoft's full update page.
