Microsoft seizes RedVDS infrastructure, disrupts fast-growing cybercrime marketplace

Microsoft, working with international law enforcement and Europol, seized infrastructure and took offline RedVDS, a subscription marketplace that sold disposable Windows-based virtual machines to criminals; the service enabled large-scale phishing, credential theft, business email compromise, and payment diversion fraud responsible for at least $40M in losses and impacts to hundreds of thousands of accounts and organizations worldwide.
