CISOs can now obtain professional liability insurance

Crum & Forster has launched a professional liability insurance policy specifically for CISOs to address gaps where traditional directors-and-officers or professional liability policies may not cover them. The policy can be purchased by companies or individual CISOs and covers consulting, moonlighting, and pro bono work, offers zero-deductible defense costs, broad claims coverage including certain criminal proceedings, and targeted regulatory protection for SEC cyber disclosure exposures; estimated costs are typically $3,000–$5,000 per insured person depending on limits and organization characteristics.
