CISA wants critical infrastructure to operate ‘weeks to months’ in isolation during conflict

CISA warns that state-sponsored hackers—particularly Chinese-linked groups Salt Typhoon and Volt Typhoon—pose active threats to U.S. critical infrastructure such as electricity, water, and data centers. The agency is launching the CI Fortify program to perform targeted OT assessments, encourage isolation of OT from IT/third-party connections, and develop recovery and service-continuity plans with pilot organizations to maintain essential services during prolonged incidents.
