WordPress.org will require two-factor authentication for developer accounts that have direct access to plugin and theme codebases starting Oct. 1 and will introduce Subversion-specific passwords to separate commit access from main account credentials, measures intended to reduce supply-chain compromises and improve default security hygiene.
