The U.S. Department of Justice announced an $875,000 settlement with Georgia Tech and the Georgia Tech Research Corporation over allegations of noncompliance with Defense Department cybersecurity requirements, including failure to deploy antivirus tools and submitting a false cybersecurity assessment score, with no admission of liability. The agreement, part of DOJ’s Civil Cyber-Fraud Initiative, grants $201,250 to two whistleblowers and follows similar settlements with other defense contractors.
