This Socure-authored analysis warns that fraud has become industrialized and fueled by AI: organized crime rings now create synthetic and stolen identities at scale (one observed campaign produced 24,148 identities in under a month), deploy identity farms to mature durable identities, and evade traditional signals like reused emails; the paper urges treating identity as critical infrastructure, expanding telemetry (residential proxies, ISP behavior, domain registrations, device and behavioral signals), and shifting from reactive detection to proactive, cross-industry threat hunting and continuous model iteration.
