Commerce setting up new AI export regime to push adoption of ‘American AI’ abroad

The Department of Commerce is preparing an "American AI Exports Program" to assemble and promote full‑stack AI technology packages (models, chips, cloud, storage, networking, and security measures) for sale to allies and partners; proposals will be evaluated by multiple agencies based on a national‑interest standard and may receive prioritized advocacy and export support, with some content‑origin requirements and flexibility for foreign company participation.
