Iranian nationals charged with hacking U.S. companies, Treasury and State departments

The U.S. government unsealed indictments and imposed Treasury sanctions on four Iranian nationals alleged to have run a coordinated multi-year (2016–at least April 2021) cyber campaign on behalf of the IRGC that targeted the U.S. Treasury and State Departments, cleared defense contractors, and multiple private firms; the DOJ charged the individuals with computer fraud, wire fraud, and related offenses, and the State Department offered rewards up to $10 million for information.
