U.S. agencies say Iranian hackers tried to pass ‘non-public’ Trump campaign docs to Biden’s campaign

Federal cybersecurity and national security agencies reported that Iranian-linked hackers stole non-public material from the Trump campaign and sent excerpts via unsolicited emails to Biden campaign associates and U.S. media in a June–July campaign to influence the 2024 election; authorities attributed ongoing hack-and-leak activity to Iran and likened the tactics to Russia’s 2016 influence operation.
