US car dealers are feeling the pain of CDK cyberattack

A ransomware attack attributed to the BlackSuit group disrupted CDK Global—provider of software to nearly 15,000 dealer locations—causing outages and operational impacts reported by at least six major U.S. auto dealers in SEC filings. BlackSuit reportedly demanded tens of millions of dollars, has posted stolen data from other victims, and is believed to be connected to earlier ransomware families such as Royal and Conti.
