Here’s how simple it is for script kiddies to stand up DDoS services

Aqua Security discovered and reported that a likely Russian, financially-motivated actor dubbed “Matrix” assembled a large Mirai-like DDoS botnet by chaining open-source tools, exploiting old vulnerabilities and default credentials, and automating sales of tiered DDoS services via a Telegram bot (“Kraken Autobuy”); while technically unsophisticated, the campaign poses high-impact, large-scale DDoS risk due to insecure routers and IoT devices.
