DOJ sues Georgia Tech over allegedly failing to meet cyber requirements for DOD contracts

The U.S. Department of Justice has sued Georgia Institute of Technology and an affiliated company under the False Claims Act, alleging the Astrolavos Lab failed to implement and properly scope a required DoD system security plan, neglected to install anti-malware on covered devices, and submitted false cybersecurity assessment information to obtain Pentagon contracts; Georgia Tech disputes the claims and the matter stems from a whistleblower suit first filed in 2022.
