Age-old problems to sharing cyber threat info remain, IG report finds

A report from the U.S. Intelligence Community Inspector General finds that while federal cyber threat information sharing has improved under the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act framework, significant obstacles remain, including over-classification, reluctance to share outside federal channels, cross-domain transfer limitations, interagency tensions, private sector legal and competitive concerns, and resource and automation shortfalls that collectively hinder timely and effective dissemination of threat data and mitigations.
