House Intel Republicans request FBI, SEC briefing on Temu

Congressional Republicans have asked the FBI and SEC for briefings on Temu and parent Pinduoduo amid reports that researchers found a zero-day in the Android app capable of elevating privileges, stealing personal data, and installing malicious software; the app was suspended from the Google Play Store, and lawmakers expressed national-security and privacy concerns given Pinduoduo’s large U.S. user base (>50M monthly downloads) and Chinese laws that could compel data access.
