A Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) alert on April 15 identified unusual malicious activity in Coffee County, Georgia’s IT infrastructure; state officials then severed the county’s access to statewide election systems (GARViS, ePulse and other reporting systems) as a precaution. County officials said there was no evidence of data exfiltration, the extent and attribution of the breach remain unclear, and some county website components were unavailable during the response.
