Spanish police disrupt Black Axe, arrest alleged leaders in action spanning four cities

Spanish National Police, with Europol and German partners, arrested 34 alleged members of the Black Axe transnational criminal organisation across several Spanish cities for business email compromise (corporate fraud), money laundering, vehicle trafficking and related offences. Authorities froze and seized funds and assets, identified the group's leadership (including Nigerian nationals), and reported the use of money mules, shell companies and hierarchical structures to conceal proceeds; several leaders remain in custody facing charges including aggravated fraud, membership in a criminal organisation, money laundering and document forgery.
