Google files lawsuit against Lighthouse ‘phishing for dummies’ text scammers

Google filed a lawsuit against alleged operators of the Lighthouse smishing (SMS phishing) service, accusing them of running large-scale phishing campaigns that impersonate Google and other brands to steal credentials and payment information; security firms cited in the report estimate millions of victims and tens of thousands of fraudulent sites. Google seeks injunctions to block related domains and IPs, and is backing U.S. legislation to combat such scams.
