Sen. Wyden urges feds to discard older, insecure, public-facing VPNs

Senator Ron Wyden urged CISA, OMB, and NIST to mandate a government-wide purge of legacy, internet-facing VPNs and to accelerate adoption of zero-trust remote-access technologies, citing recent high-profile exploits (ArcaneDoor, FortiBleed and vulnerabilities in Ivanti and Check Point) that have led to federal compromises; he recommended binding directives, procurement changes, and NIST implementation standards to force the transition.
