Host of House panels getting briefed on major Chinese hacker telecom breaches

A Chinese government-linked hacking group known as Salt Typhoon is reported to have gained unauthorized access to major U.S. telecommunications infrastructure, allegedly enabling surveillance of the phones of senior U.S. officials and members of the Trump campaign. Multiple congressional committees and federal agencies (including the FBI, DOJ-NSD, ODNI, CISA, and NTIA) have been briefed and investigations are underway into the scope and implications of the breach.
