IRGC hacked a Swedish SMS service in response to Quran burning, authorities say

Swedish authorities say an Iranian-linked hacking unit dubbed “Anzu Team,” affiliated with the IRGC, breached a major Swedish SMS provider in August 2023 and used the access to send 15,000 messages calling for revenge over a Quran-burning incident; the group also operated a Telegram channel/dark-web sites, claimed DDoS attacks on Swedish sites, and posted bounties—an active influence operation aimed at sowing division in Sweden.
