Phones of journalists and activists in Europe targeted with Pegasus

Investigations by Access Now, Citizen Lab and an independent researcher found that NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware was used to target at least seven European-based journalists and activists from August 2020 through June 2023; the report documents individual targets, Apple notifications and repeated infections, highlights the threat to press freedom and civil society, and urges governments to impose a moratorium on export, sale and use of targeted surveillance technologies.
