Former BreachForums admin to be jailed until Jan. 19 sentencing

A federal judge ordered Conor Fitzpatrick (aka “Pompompurin”), founder of the BreachForums cybercrime marketplace, be held in jail pending sentencing after prosecutors alleged he violated pretrial release conditions by using an unmonitored computer and VPNs; Fitzpatrick had pleaded guilty to felony counts related to operating a forum that hosted at least 888 datasets comprising over 14 billion records, and although FBI seized the original domains, replacement/copycat sites remain active.
