GAO reminds White House of cyber backlog

The GAO issued an off-cycle update to its high-risk list urging the White House and federal agencies to address hundreds of outstanding cybersecurity recommendations, strengthen outcome-oriented performance measures in the National Cybersecurity Strategy implementation plan, and take a more active role in securing critical infrastructure—particularly ensuring adoption of ransomware best practices across critical sectors—ahead of the 2024 election.
