Microsoft Threat Intelligence reports North Korean APT groups are leveraging generative AI to automate and scale credentialed-access operations by creating tailored fake personas for remote-hire schemes, improving social engineering (multilingual lures, voice modulation, media impersonation), enabling post-compromise tasks (environment analysis, lateral movement, privilege escalation, data theft), and experimenting with agentic AI that could further automate persistent and adaptive campaigns.
