Zero lessons learned: Convicted scammer allegedly ran another athlete-focused phishing scam from federal prison

Professional athletes and entertainers were allegedly targeted in a multi-year social-engineering campaign by Kwamaine Jerell Ford, who impersonated an adult film star and spoofed Apple customer service texts to phish iCloud credentials and MFA codes, enabling account takeover, identity theft and over 2,000 unauthorized debit/credit card transactions; he is also accused of coercing an OnlyFans model and facilitating sex trafficking. Ford pleaded not guilty to 22 charges including wire fraud, access device fraud, aggravated identity theft and sex trafficking and is being held without bail.
