Interpol cybercrime crackdown nets 5,800 arrests across 97 countries

Interpol's Operation First Light was a three-month global crackdown on social-engineering scams and money laundering that led to more than 5,800 alleged cybercriminal arrests, seizure of $293 million, identification of over 142,000 victims, analysis of ~152,800 cybercrime cases (including BEC, sextortion, romance and investment scams), blocking of more than 31,000 bank accounts, and the disruption of scam centers and laundering operations across 97 countries.
