European authorities take down prolific cybercrime VPN service

European law enforcement, led by France and the Netherlands with support from Europol and partners, dismantled the 'First VPN' service, arrested its alleged administrator in Ukraine, seized 33 servers and multiple domains (including 1vpns.com/net/org), and recovered the VPN's user database which linked thousands of users to ransomware attacks, fraud schemes, and other cybercriminal activity — generating leads for dozens of ongoing investigations.
