White House publishes latest plan to protect a key component of the internet

The White House Office of the National Cyber Director released a roadmap urging rapid adoption of routing-security measures—chiefly Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI)—to mitigate vulnerabilities in the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). The plan directs federal agencies, contractors, network operators, cloud providers, and critical infrastructure owners to implement risk-based routing protections and monitoring, and aligns with recent FCC and CISA actions to improve internet routing security.
