Microsoft moves to disrupt hacking-as-a-service scheme that’s bypassing AI safety measures

Microsoft filed a complaint and obtained a temporary restraining order to seize domains and infrastructure after discovering a hacking-as-a-service operation that stole Azure OpenAI API keys and used custom software to bypass safety guardrails, generate prohibited images, strip AI watermark metadata, and monetize access to compromised generative-AI accounts.
