New Threat Perspective Outlines Risks to Australian Electric Organisations

Dragos' Australian Cyber Threat Perspective warns that Australian electric organisations face elevated cyber risk from both criminal and state-sponsored adversaries — including increased ransomware activity and supply-chain threats — with at least six Dragos-designated groups assessed as capable of targeting the sector. The report highlights the growing risk of intrusion-facilitated disruptive or destructive attacks against control centres and grid operations and urges comprehensive IT/OT defensive measures such as defensible architecture, monitoring, incident response planning, remote access authentication, and vulnerability management.
