12th August – Threat Intelligence Report

This weekly threat intelligence bulletin details multiple active incidents and research: ransomware attacks impacted French museums (including Grand Palais), a Texas city, Sumter County, and a Michigan hospital network; critical vulnerabilities (OpenVPN, Android/Linux kernel, Ivanti/FortiGate VPNs, Cisco IP phones) with some exploited in the wild were disclosed or patched; a massive 2.9 billion-record data breach from a scraping service and additional large data exposures were reported; and malware campaigns such as Magniber ransomware and the Chameleon Android trojan targeting credentials were observed. The report also notes service-disrupting DDoS/robocall attacks and provides vendor mitigations and detection mappings.
