Empire Market co-founder faces 10 years to life after guilty plea

Raheim Hamilton, co-creator of the Empire Market dark web marketplace, pleaded guilty in federal court to drug conspiracy charges and faces a mandatory sentence of 10 years to life; Empire Market facilitated over four million transactions worth more than $430M (including drugs, stolen credentials, counterfeit currency and malware), used cryptocurrencies and tumbling services to launder proceeds, and U.S. authorities seized roughly $75M in crypto and other assets as part of the investigation.
