Iran-linked hackers target IP cameras across Israel and Gulf states for military intelligence

Researchers observed Iran-linked actors intensifying scans and exploitation attempts against Hikvision and Dahua IP cameras across Israel, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon and Cyprus using known vulnerabilities (including several CVEs spanning authentication bypass, command injection and RCE) and VPN/VPS infrastructure to enable reconnaissance and battle-damage assessment; defenders are advised to remove public internet access, enforce strong credentials, isolate camera networks, update firmware and monitor for suspicious access.
