Romania’s national oil pipeline firm Conpet reports cyberattack

Romania’s state-controlled pipeline operator Conpet detected a cyberattack on 3 February 2026 that affected its business IT systems and took its website offline; the company says operational systems (SCADA and telecom) and oil transport remained unaffected. The Qilin ransomware group added Conpet to its Tor data-leak site on 5 February, claiming theft of 1 TB of sensitive data and publishing proof images; Conpet has engaged national cybersecurity authorities and filed a criminal complaint with DIICOT.
