WorldLeaks, an extortion-focused ransomware group that rebranded from Hunters International, has claimed the theft of 159.9 GB from the City of Los Angeles and disrupted Los Angeles Metro internal systems (affecting station arrival displays and TAP card services). Separately, Foster City experienced a ransomware attack that forced systems offline and prompted a state of emergency; core emergency services remained operational while investigations and remediation with external cybersecurity experts are underway.
