Medtronic Notifies 3.8 Million After ShinyHunters Data Breach

Medtronic disclosed an April 2026 cyberattack by the ShinyHunters extortion group that led to notification of 3,834,294 individuals after unauthorized access to corporate IT systems; the company says potentially exposed information may include names, contact details, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and health-related data, but found no impact to products, patient safety, or evidence of public posting and is offering 24 months of credit/dark web monitoring and identity recovery services.
