FCC targets foreign router imports amid rising cybersecurity concerns

The FCC has updated its Covered List to include all consumer-grade routers produced abroad, banning new foreign-made routers from sale or marketing in the U.S. unless they receive conditional approval from DHS or defense authorities; the move is driven by government assessments that such devices pose unacceptable supply-chain, espionage, and national-security risks and have been linked to major cyber-espionage campaigns and botnet abuse.
