The FBI and industry researchers warn of a surge in cyber-enabled cargo theft across the U.S. and Canada, where threat actors use phishing, fake domains, compromised carrier/broker accounts and remote monitoring/management tools to post fraudulent load listings, hijack shipments, redirect deliveries, and steal high-value cargo; losses and incident counts have risen substantially, and the PSA lists indicators (spoofed emails, mailbox rules, short-lived VoIP numbers) and recommends multi-channel verification and stronger operational controls.
