Google targets IPIDEA in crackdown on global residential proxy networks

Google and partners disrupted IPIDEA, one of the largest residential proxy networks, by taking down C2 and marketing domains and enforcing Play Protect to remove apps containing IPIDEA-linked SDKs; the network had covertly enrolled millions of consumer devices via trojanized VPNs, Windows binaries, and hundreds of Android apps and was widely abused by over 550 tracked threat groups for cybercrime and espionage.
