DentaQuest disclosed a data breach that impacted +23 million individuals

DentaQuest disclosed a May 17–20, 2026 network breach that may have exposed personal identification and dental health information for over 23 million individuals; the ShinyHunters extortion group claimed responsibility and posted roughly 234 GB of stolen data (including emails, names, addresses, Medicaid/Medicare IDs and a reported folder with ~1.7M Social Security numbers). DentaQuest engaged Kroll, notified law enforcement, secured systems, and is offering 24 months of credit monitoring while the full scope of the compromise is assessed.
