Critical BRIDGE:BREAK flaws impact Lantronix and Silex Technology converters

Researchers at Forescout disclosed 22 “BRIDGE:BREAK” vulnerabilities in Lantronix and Silex serial-to-IP converters — including RCE, authentication bypass, firmware tampering, and data exposure — exposing about 20,000 devices and enabling hijacking, data manipulation, DoS, and lateral movement that could affect industrial, energy, healthcare, retail, and transportation systems; vendors issued fixes and the report urges immediate patching, removal of devices from the public internet, strong credentials, network segmentation, and enhanced monitoring.
