OpenAI Introduces Password-Free Login for Millions of ChatGPT Users

**OpenAI Advanced Account Security:** OpenAI introduced an opt-in feature that removes traditional email-and-password logins and replaces them with passkeys or physical security keys (including a discounted Yubico bundle), disables email/SMS recovery to prevent SIM‑swap attacks, and adds privacy and session controls; it is aimed at high-risk users (journalists, dissidents, researchers) and will be mandatory for some Trusted Access for Cyber accounts starting June 1, 2026.
