South Korean authorities are investigating multiple data breaches that affected major commercial banks, regional and nonbank financial institutions and exposed customers' personal and financial information for tens of thousands of individuals. Regulators ordered comprehensive security inspections, tightened access controls and expedited threat-information sharing after investigators found attack traffic from IPs across several countries and traces of an AI-associated autonomous penetration-testing console on a server linked to one incident, although AI involvement has not been confirmed.
