Google Search Uploads Can Train AI Unless You Opt Out

Google has updated Search services settings so that saved media (images, files, audio, video) from interactions with Search, Lens, Translate and related features may be used to improve Google’s AI models unless users opt out; the change is rolling out gradually and the opt-out does not delete previously saved media. The article warns that routine employee use of consumer search tools can inadvertently expose work or regulated data, and recommends that organizations review managed account settings, update acceptable-use guidance, and remind staff not to upload confidential material to Search services.
